Hey all, I have a 1982 chevy k10 with a 305 paired with a th700r4. The motor runs good but when going to put the truck into gear there is no output, finally did a pressure test and have 0 pressure, any ideas, causes or any help is appreciated, thank you.

 

There are many things that can cause zero pressure in an automatic transmission. But the most common in a 700R4 is a broke pump rotor. Since you have zero pressure there is really nothing you can do to solve this issue in the vehicle. So I would pull the transmission and pull the converter. Use a light to look down past the stator tube in the pump in between the seal. You should see two square "ears" on the pump rotor that engage into the slots on the converter snout. If those ears are broken or damaged you will need to replace the pump. They way this happens is the converter isnt completely seated into the pump before it is bolted to the engine. This will crush the pump rotor and you will have a zero pressure situation.

 

Double check that there is fluid in the pan. I know, obvious, but one never knows.
