4th Gen rear end swap?
Hey all! Gonna be doing a 4th gen rear end swap on my 91 i already know its basically a bolt in swap as there pretty much the exact same but was wondering before i buy another entire rear end if its possible to just replace only the axles on my 91’s rear end with 93-02 axles to get the extra length and disc brakes the 4th gens have or if im gonna need to just buy a entire rear end, Only reason id like to swap only the axles is my 91’s is already pretty well optioned aside from having disc brakes so id like to get those plus the extra length without having to spend a fortune building a new one so if someone could shed some light on if this is possible before i figure it out for myself that would be much appreciated!

Re: 4th Gen rear end swap?
You can't put 4th gen axle shafts in a 3rd gen axle.
You do not need a 4th gen rear to get the disc brakes....they'll work on a 3rd gen rear.
The extra length of the 4th gen rear looks ghetto, it 3rd gen wheel offsets.

Re: 4th Gen rear end swap?
The length of the axles is dictated by the width of the housing.
I found a 4th gen axle swap was a very affordable and easy way to get a limited slip, disc brakes and a better gear ratio in one shot, but i already had 4th gen wheels. I also
wasn't looking for any particularly special ratio so was happy with the 3.42s. over my stock 2.73s.
