Hawks 3rd gen pedals
Guys , looking for some help here. I’m trying to convert a 1986 iroc to manual, I purchased the Hawks Motorsports repo manual pedal assembly which their sales team said was a direct bolt in. I’m finding the the bracket holes are different where it bolts to the firewall,,. While the vertical holes line up the horizontal holes are off by a good 1/2 inch. I would have to remove the existing studs and redrill the firewall holes. Has anyone had this issue? Certainly not what I expected from a $222 dollar assembly….

I would call them and ask them about the problem. If they are suppose to bolt and for that price I would think so maybe you got a miss boxed set. I would definately ask them about it what you should do next without voiding the warrenty.

When I swapped from a mechanical clutch to a hydraulic I looked at hawks. The price and quasi repro component turned me off. I hear they're for 3rd/4th gen cars. I grabbed a set off eBay for 70 shipped and got new bushings 15 and painted them.

If my memory serves me from browsing other threads, you might run into more problems with the brake switch not fitting.
I prefer to find a decent used set and clean it up, paint, reassemble and grease bushings. Literally better than new. You can also adapt 4th gen clutch and brake pedal if you can't find a good 3rd gen.

Yep. Prior replies suggested used 4th gen pedals.
If you're gonna put in the effort, might as well save money.

Re: Hawks 3rd gen pedals
I used OEM 4th gen pedals and cut the gas pedal off. The Hawks pedal kit looks to be just that. I found that I needed to enlarge a couple of the holes for brake booster studs. Also, the one top bolt was off a little bit, but that was easily corrected by loosening the angle bracket on the pedal assembly, getting the top screw started and then tightening down the screw and the bracket nut.
