Did a burnout in my chevy siverado and now my truck wont shift out of firstgear no matter how hard i push it . No problems at all until now . Any suggestions

 

stripped governor gear is a common cause of that problem. Easy fix.

 

thanks man but I already checked the governor and it's fine . I have been told that it should shift if you Rev it high enough if the tv cable plunger is stuck but it won't shift at all . We'll it will shift into Rev or neutral and park just fine and the 4x4 seems to be working fine

 

What's the fluid level at??

 

It's toast, try rebuilding it, AND THEN do a burnout.

 

Well i changed the flid and filter and there was no metal in the old fluid but it did look a little burnt but i filled it back up and no change

 

It's toast, pull it out and rebuild it
