They bring up good points, including the "acts like an open carrier" with a wheel off the ground. Which also highlights a gap in the article - the gear bias carrier with clutch pack.
In some cases, I would try and go T2R, with the clutch pack in the gear bias. diff. Maybe especially in a vehicle without traction assist. AFAIK, that's no longer made for the 7.625 but I would triple check with Strano.
Torsen dot com still has healthy reading covering info in addition to what your link covers. Higher ratios for heavier vehicles. I wonder what Eaton is building into their truetracs these days.

I think the device that one chooses should really depend on the usage.
