4l80 fitment
4l80 fitment
I've been looking around for a form post that says whether or not a 4l80 fits perfectly. I seems half of the world says there is no modification the other half says there is. So does anyone have any successful build with the 4L80 transmission? If so, could you post your story and maybe even some photos? Thank you.

Re: 4l80 fitment
When I was deciding whether to rebuild my 700 or install a 480 I remember seeing what you said about needed mods. There are already a lot of posts and pics from people who have done it with no mods or with whatever mods they had to do to get it to fit. The actual mods were hammering the floorplan to fit as I remember, so as long as you are not talking about things like changes involving ground clearance, gear ratios, crossmember, computer, torque arm, driveshaft etc. that would be it.
Also keep in mind asking people to come to you rather than you finding what they already posted might not get many results.
Good luck with your build.

Re: 4l80 fitment
My 4L80e slipped into place no problem and no modifications needed. I've got a 99 4L80e with the front and rear cooler ports using -6an 90* fittings on both and I've also got that Hooker blackheart crossmember with the torque arm mount cut off as my Midwest Chassis torque arm has it's own crossmember.
