700r4, WOT upshift to OD, Z-rated tires?
Reading ancient posts over at deja, I came across a thread discussing the 3-4 WOT shifting issues of the 700r4.
Someone stated that some F-body 700r4's that came in cars with Z-rated tires, were able to upshift to OD at WOT right from the factory.
someone else said that his unmodified 90 IROC would upshift to OD at WOT.
can anyone definatively prove or disprove this? Does anyone on here own a newer 3rdgen that came with factory Z-rated rubber that upshifts to OD even at WOT? Or is this rubbish?

As far as I know, the ratings of the tires just have to do with your governor top speed. The only 700s that MIGHT shift into 4th at WOT would have to be the B4C, but I don't even think they can. As far as I know if you want 4th gear upshift at WOT you need a sleeve that you can buy from summit or jegs for about 30 bucks. Good luck.
