Im not too knowledgeable in this area, so I was hoping you guys could help me out a bit. I have an 87 700r4 in my camaro, what specific torque converter do I need to look for when changing to a higher stall speed? Do I want a 30 spline lockup converter? Im running 3.23 gears making 380ft/lbs at 2500rpm with a pretty flat torque curve up to 4500(350ft/lbs@4000), and 275hp@4500rpm peak in a 3500lb car. What stall speed should I look at?

If you're starting to make good power by 2500 rpms you should get a converter with a stall speed around 2500-2800.
If it's an original '87 trans it should have a 30 spline input. Lock up is good to have and doesn't effect performance when it's not locked up. Converters should not be locked up under heavy loads unless the are designed for that, very few are. The precision industries vigilante is a high priced durable converter.

Yep 30 spline. I would think you would want a little more play with the tq converter so If I were you I would shoot for something 2000-2300 max. A little below the power curve is better suited than somthing dead on or above.
