Rearend of Third Gens?

I have a 1988 Firebird that just got a newly rebuilt and modded 350. I was wondering how much more my rearend can take. I have 152,000 on the rear. How much more will it take? I heard this is a crappy rearend and that I should swap in a ford 9in but I don't have the money right now. So will it take a set of 3:73's I wanna put in in a month or so? How much is it rated at? Thanks.

An Auburn gear in your 10 bolt should do the trick. How modded is it. If it is pushin serious numbers than you should save up and do the 9 inch. I think an auburn would hold my firnd has a fast 350 and his auburn is holding fine. He has about 425 horse and torque, if this is similar to you then I would do it, while your at it put in an eaton posi
