re-building tranny and getting some tranny mods

As you can see in my sig , I have a 2.8 camaro .Im in need of a tranny rebuild and new torque converter .Im going with the JET street challenger converter .It's only 500 rpms over stock .Im also thinking about going with a transgo shiftkit and corvette boost valves .How does this combo sound ? Should these not be mixed together ? Do I really not need a corvette servo with shiftkit ?
What do you guys think about this ? Thanx alot guys .

My honest opinion? It sounds like overkill. I have an '88 2.8L and I did the tranny on it last Summer and used the TransGo Junior Shift Kit, V-8 Servo (not the 'Vette Servo) and used the regular V-8 TV Boost Valve (.422"). To me it feels fine and it fixed the weak points of the tranny W/O adding parts it didn't need. I work at a tranny shop and have everything available to me but just used what the car called for. I did go up on the stall about the same you are planning on but again this is what my car needed with the anemic 2.8L.

I did upgrade the internals to the Borg Warner High Energy Frictions and Band and the 4L60E Sprag but I believe in those parts and I had to replace what I had anyways.

In my younger days I had the cars that would bark the tires at any throttle and even then, there were times it got old. Thank goodness I was using a turbo 400 at the time though!

Thanx alot man ! Yeah , I dont wanna go overkill .What is a 4L60E sprag out ? ...Those parts will most likely have to replaced anyways with 184k miles on my tranny .Tranny has been a good tranny though !

The Jr. SK is actually meant for professional use. Pro Built can set you up with whatever you need. The 4L60E sprag is the latest design. To use it you need the Overrun Clutch Hub from a @'96-up 4L60E.
