Specific t-5 question

ok, I have an 84 z with a 350 making about 290-300 hp and same on the torque w/ a 700r4. I have a chance to get a t5 out of a 91 rs convertible with a 305 tbi. I just want an estimat of how long it would hold up if I was nice to it (no clutch drops or powershifting)
I have 3.73 by the way, if that matters. Thanks in advance.

Assuming you were nice to it, I'd say longer than a day and less than 20 years.

In all reality you should be alright. The WC T-5 is rated for 320 ft-lbs of tq, since you claim to be right near that limit don't expect it to live forever but it should be ok if it's in good shape now. I've been trying to blow mine behind my 225-ish hp 350 for about 8 months now and haven't accomplished it yet.

BTW, you should check out theRegional boards and the Cascade Crew site. We've got a couple of members in your area and always welcome more.
