700r4 tv cable..

ok I was reading a few posts here about the tv cable.. I'm just wondering how you know if it's set properly?? I had to put a 1" tbi spacer so that my non drop air cleaner would clear the coil, etc.. now they gave me little sleeve spacers with longer bolts for the throttle/tv bracket.. when I put those on it would change the angle left to right on the bracket so much that the cables wheren't parallel with the tb.. I ended up cutting the hole out on the rear of the bracket so I could adjust for that.. now I did the push all the way in and then push the pedal all the way down and the adjust clicks out.. almost seems to come out all the way.. it seems to shift fine .. just when it goes to od it seems to almost slip in.. I don't remember if that's how it was before since it had been about 6 months without an engine..

I think it'll be alright as long as the throttle lever geometry hasn't been altered. As long as you can adjust the cable to where wot coincides with full cable pull it should be right.
My 700 seems to go into 4th quite soft as well.

ok I readjusted it the way someone else had mentioned.. I had a buddy hold the pedal to the floor and I pressed and held the d shaped button and pushed in the insert as far as I could and released the button.. I haven't tested it out yet... waiting for the roads to dry again.. damn snow..

Mine was shifting weird also so I adjusted the TV cable and now it lunges when shifting from 1st to 2nd what's up with that? Let me know how the second method worked out, maybe I should try it that way.

Well I tried it out last nite.. seems to be ok.. if you take off slowly you barely notice the shifts.. if you get on it you feel them a little.. I guess probably because the tranny mount was broken before it felt like it was shifting harder.. I now have energy suspension motor & tranny mounts..
