T56 with stock speedo?
Sorry if I'm missing something obvious, but I have gone through the message boards and haven't run into any specifics on using the T56 with the stock electronic speedo. Yeah, I've heard that there a couple of companies that manufacture something(I don't know what its called) to convert the signal from the 4th gen VSS to the signal the ECM expects from the thirdgen VSS. I heard that the one Cyberdyne manufactures has given people alot of problems. Everyone seems to just go with an electronic speedo from Autometer, or just set it up for a cable driven speedometer. No one has mentioned how the VSS signal converters (what the hell are they called?) install though( I would really hate to have to cut up anything in the harness). I plan on going carbed in the future, and I want everything to work if possible with the stock gauges. If anyone has any info on this swap, please let me know. Thanks, and sorry for this huge post.
Dakota Digital part SG-5 I believe. See www.dakotadigital.com for more info.
I'm using one of these on my T56 swap, feeding VSS data to the ECM. Set it for 4000pulses/mile and you're all set with your stock speedo and ECM.
