Can I turn 2.73 rear into a 3.43 posi

I want to install 3.42 gears with a posi unit. Are the gears and posi unit all I need? Or are there spider gears and the like that must be
installed as well?

all you need is the gears and posi.

youd need a installation kit with all the bearings, seals, and gasket for any gear swap too.

Quote from the book "the best of hot Rod Magazine",
"On the GM 7.5 and 7.625 rearends, you must change Posi cases when going to 3.23 and up gears. This is due to the differences in ring gear thickness. GM stocks 2 differenct Posi cases for 3.23 and up gears. We suggest using the stronger one piece Auburn cone-type diff, stay away from the weaker corporate unit.
Be cool!
