Posi
First of all, did any F-Bodys come stock with posi or limited slip?
Second of all, How would I be able to tell if the rearend was posi or limited slip? Would i just have to take the guys word for it, or what?
I'm going to try upgrading pretty much everything except the rear witch is the 2.73
So I am trying to figure out where I can get a cheap rearend, and how I can tell what it is.
Thanks

if you have a 2.73 most likely its not posi. you can tell posi by nailing and gas and see if it lays 2 black marks or just 1, 2 is posi 1 is open, if your car is took weak to light em' up get the rear tires off the ground and spin one, if the tire on the other side goes the same direction as the tire your turning its posi, if it turns the oppisite direction its open. you can tell a gear ratio by counting have many teeth are on the ring gear then how many are on the pinion gear and divide them., such as if the ring had 40 teeth and the pinion 10, divded togeather makes 410 in turn a 4.10 ratio
I guess you're looking at a car you're thinking of buying?
You can take the guys word for it, you can have someone here tell you what codes to look for and find out the posi was removed or the rear replaced at some time. Or you could just jack one tire up, put it in neutral and try to spin it, if it spins it's not a posi or it's a worn out posi. If it doesn't spin it should be a posi.

Thanks guys. I just wanted to know in case I come across one at a local yard. that will give me incentive to browse the rearend section, or look at the VINs to see if it does have a posi.
