MTV Down Valve? with a pic!

I purchased my 700r4 tranny and it already had a stage to shift kit, but recently it started shifting at very low rpms. I changed the TV cable and adjusted it right, but that made no diference. So I pulled the valve body apart to see if any valves were stuck, none were but the MTV valve didn't have a sping in it. I was wondering if the spring gets removed with a shift kit? or if the sping should be there, also the tranny doens't kick down unless you do it manually.

the TCIŽ 376500 kit removes the M.T.V. Up spring. They have a document for the kit at www.tciauto.com
(The MTV Up / Down valves are swapped on the Transonline picture you posted)

The B&M Transpak kit also removes the spring.
The installation instruction can be downloaded from here:
http://www.bmracing.com/noflash/dwnl...dex.html<br /> There might be some problem in the governor, if the TV valve seems to work OK and the fluid level was correct.
