Much Help Needed!!! Rear Axle Question....

Okay it turns out that in 1990 the rear end is still the older rear end. Witht he 27 splines. I dont know what website I looked at but one of them said its switched over already. Anyways...I have gears and posi for the 28 spline model. I need axles from a 91-92 rear end. The questions is this....

1) WILL THE AXLES FROM A 91-92 FIT INTO THE OLDER REAR END?

2) IS THERE ANY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE DISK AND DRUM BRAKE REAR AXLES?

3) IF THE AXLES FROM TEH 91-92 FIT ITNO THE OLDER REAR END...IS THERE ANY CHANGES I NEED TO MAKE? LIKE NEW SEALS OR ANYTHING?

THANKS!!!!! Sorry I really want posi and gears. And I need it before next week saturday. But atcually I want it by today. Please respond. Thank you.

1. Yes

2. Yes - the disk brake axle flange has a smaller outer diameter; some drum axles will not fit into a disk rotor, but disk axles will always fit into drums

3. No changes; since you'll be replacing the axle bearings and seals when you change axles anyway, they'll be the same ones you would have bought for the older axles.

You may want to do a re-count. It should either be 26 or 28 spline, if you came up with 27 you must have missed one somewhere.
