Does anybody know if the ring and pinion for a 94 Z28 6-speed will fit in a 91 RS rearend it has the 2.73 i think the other ones are 3.42's

 

No. They are the right size, but they need to go on a 3-series carrier, and the one you have with 2.73 gears is a 2-series. The gears will have about an extra ¼" of space between them, which is kind of huge when it's supposed to be .008" or so.

You could get the SLP takeoff posi for $100 bucks, then it would all work.

It would be the 3 series carrier therefore work with the gear setup..

I dont know the part number off of the top of my head But its EASY..... They are TAKEOFFS from SLP.....BASically when the 4thgen comes from the GM PLLANT TO SLP to be turned into say a camaro SS......SLP takes out that Unit....But the idea is that since you are trying to run 4th gen gears you get a perfect match by bolting it up to the 4th gen takeoff diff....

You get a deal in that basically you get a brand new unit....GM assembles it...drive the car like 4 minutes up the road to slp...They take it out...So its about as NEW of a used part as you can get...
