You can use 8 .080 BW hi-Energy's with 7 .060 Kolene steels. I have found this the best for Street/Strip. If you plan on road racing, then 7 .080 BW hi-Energy's with 6 .080 Kolenes steels. This setup will handle more heat due to the cycling of the 2-4 band & 3-4 clutches. I do not like the thin Red Alto clutches , they do not retain enough oil for heat dissipation.

One more opinion on this. As long as you do not have a killer engine I like to use the 4L60E 3-4 pack with it's ridgid Pressure and Apply Plates and thick (.106") steels along with the High Energy B/W Frictions. They are really durable and along with the TransGo SK or Reprogramming Kit will stand up for a long time. If you get into higher power numbers then extra High Energy B/W Fric's are the way to go.
