Shop prices for T-5 > T-56 swap

What are fair shop prices for this swap? I don't have the time to do this myself..I go to school full time and I need my tranny. What are some prices you guys have paid or heard of?

Yarnboy-

Quick question for you...

I see in your sig that you have an '88 IROC-Z w/ T5, 3.08 gear ratio... how does the car perform with the 5-spd, 3.08 setup?

I drove a 5-spd, 3.42 IROC and it was fast as HELL... so I am curious how you feel about yours?

I've got a '90 IROC-Z w/ 700R4, 3.08 gears and am planning on having a shop swap in a T5, so I'm very interested to know how much performance you feel you're gettin...

If it's not too great, I might swap in 3.42 gears along with the T5.

Thanks

I'm in the same situation, no time and T5/clutch worn out.
My local trans shop says thay'll do the swap for approx. $400, so long as I supply the T56 trans. Now I'm trying to find a rebuilt T56 ***'y at a decent price. ManTrans. LLC on Ebay has them for $1900, but I'd like to find a cheaper oone nearby. It would be nice to find a shop that I can drive into and drive out with a new T56 at a good price. If I find one I'll post it.

I've got a 5 speed 305 TPI with 3.42 gears and it is pretty quick.
Not as quick as it should be due to a stock prom and modified motor. 14.7 @ 93mph.
