PLEASE Help me get some stuff straight about automatic transmissions...

Ok, we're talking 700R4 here.

Shiftkit... fixes inherant design flaws with the actual transmission function.

servo (IE Corvette servo)- does what exactly?

boost valve - same as above? What does it do?

Boosted line pressure - does what? how is it accomplished?

When I have my transmission rebuilt... it's going to get a standard rebuild with whatever the shop uses... a transgo shiftkit it standard andin addition to this, I was quick shifts... not nessesarily hard, just quick... comfortable enough for the lady, but quick and hard enough to take care of business at the track, what specific parts will accomplish this?

Anything specific I can ask the rebuild to check, double check, pay close attention to any specific clearance? Anything I can say to him like "hey while your in there could you stick this pencil in the thingamaboder right there for me and make sure it's exactly .0098MM away from the whozawhutszit."

Also, can I get a TH350 to hook up to my V6 engine? I know there is an install kit needed, but could I redrill the housing to make it fit? I'm looking for more economical shortcuts around a 1200$ rebuild... and considering turbo 350's are dirt cheap to both buy and rebuild, it would make sense togo for one...

Get my drift? Thanks ahead of time... I'm sure this has been asked before but after sifting through the info I want to ask again and get specific answers in an easy to understand format.

The Corvette servo increases holding power for 2nd gear, firms up 3rd gear (slightly)& will eliminate some 2-3 flare-ups, by forcing more oil to the 3-4 clutches. The main boost valve raises line pressure in accordance with throttle opening, when in "D" or "OD" position. If you install a larger main boost valve (.471 or .500), the shifts can get firmer acroos the range if no other modifications are done to the trans. The intermediate/reverse boost valve acts independently of the main boost valve, so when in the "R" or "1' or "2" this valve is used to raise line pressure higher (if you have the .282 or larger boost valve) for more holding power when in these gears. When installing the Trans-Go Shift kit (not the performance Shift Kit) it will have the fixes to still make the shifts nice at light throttle, but not firm shifts at full throttle. If you are going to install the Performance Shift kit then the Trans-Go Junior Shift kit should be added to get the nice part throttle shifts you want (best of both worlds). Go to my website to see what modifications and parts are needed to do this transmission right. www.pro-built.net If you have any questions let me know?

The Vette servo sounds exactly like what my tranny needs right now. Second to third shift will rev a little high sometimes, usually after I've been driving awhile. Is the servo something I can install, or does it take a pro with special tools?
