Plz help with leaky tranny line!!!

I just replaced my tranny lines.... The top return line from the radiator is holding up great... But the bottom send line is leaking.. I used tranny lines off the tranny coming up to the rad, i just cut the old lines coming from the rad about an inch from the rad and now im using a compression 5/16 fitting to connect the new lines to the old lines... The top line is perfect.... But the lower one is leaking, im guessing because its higher pressure? Ive tried it twice and I seem to be lining it up pretty straight but it seems to be leaking still..... Has anyone done this before? Had any problems? I attached a quickly drawn picture so u kinda understand whut i did... Thanks alot for yer help.....

i would suggest replacing the entire line, take the whole thing out and keep the two fittings on the end. try to measure out the length of the line and go to the parts store. tell them you need a 5/16" line with two ends that you removed. put the new one in and route it the same way as the old one.
