Painless wiring sells a vaccum switch (part#prf-60109) that wires into the tranny and works just fine for what ya want.
is not having it going to kill my tranny?? i hear of people not running them just that the gas milage goes down is all thanks for the part number kindof pricey but if i gotta get i guess i will have to spend the money!!
As Superman said you need a vacuum switch (controlled by ported vacuum, will open in idle) in series with the brake pedal switch.
Most probably you have a NC 4th gear, you will have to replace this with a one-wire NO switch and connect it in series with the lockup solenoid.

Some of the no lock-up 700r4 will burn up idea is caused by the gears you have. If you have high gears(a low rpm cruise) your converter will be slipping constantly and creates alot of heat. With deep gears the converter doesn't slip as much and doesn't produce as much heat.
can anyone else add to this?? with out the computer can i still use the plug in on the drivers side under the dash that is where i have the lock up switch at now like how they said to do it in the tech articles
