I posted a topic the other day about my trans not shifting from 2nd to drive or over-drive. Someone told me that the arm that the tv cable hooks to in the trans may be hung-up. My wife brought it to my attention that i wasn't clear in asking for any advice. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

 

If your trans won't shift to 3rd even under part throttle,
there are a few things you can check for before you cart it off the the trans shop for a rebuild. First check the fluid level. It needs to be full. The TV valve (which is activated by the TV cable)
may be stuck. Any one of the other valves or servos in the valve body could be stuck or a pressure regulator valve in the pump for that matter. The govenor could be stuck or broken (plastic gear).
The 2-4 servo assembly may be broken or stuck. You could also have an ugly internal problem, requiring the services of a good trans man.
