Splines, teeth and posis...OH MY

Hey guys I just saw a post about some one who is having problems with their new rear. I am gonna get a rear done pretty soon and I dont want to have any worries. I want to put 3:42s in my car so here are the Questions: * Should I get a Posi Rear our of a donor car and just put in the new gears and Posi? * Whut is this teeth and spline stuff everyone is talking about lining up? Is there a Tech article some where that I can read * If I want to put in the 3:42s whut type of Posi will I need? I was thinking of the SLP Torsen will that work for my application? I hate asking this stuff, but I have no clue about rears, i was gonna try to do it my self but then I saw some ones answer to that other post about "if you need to ask you shouldn't do it your self" So before I screw my car up, I'd figure I'd ask. Thanks alot

you can put the gears on any posi, as long as you have the correct series. buy a manual to see how it's done, good instructions come with richmond gears. not sure about the teeth thing, there are no teeth to line up, unless you mean contact pattern. the spline is the axle, you need to have the same splines on the carrier as the axles. gears aren't as hard to change as most people think, but do require tools most people don't have.
