I would also like to know the difference. What are their recommended HP and torque ranges, and their optimal applications

I thought they had 3 different stages: stage 1 (mostly stock), stage 2 (up to 400-500hp), stage 3 (up to 600 hp).
I havent been to their webpage in a little over a year, but thats how it used to be I believe.

this is what i remember dana telling me.
the street strip has a valve body that will hold whatever gear you are in to any RPM. anotherwords, if you put it in 1 and rev to 6500 it will stay in 1. (or if you put it in 2 and rev to 6500 it will stay in 2nd, etc.). He also told me that it has better shift characteristics for the 2-3 shift in terms of how the trans handles the oil pressure internally (or something like that).
beyond that, check with dana.
I have a 2400 9.5" act and a street strip 700r4 in my 91 5.7 and am happy.

Yeah, I called him today and that's exactly what he said. He also said the street strip is better for road racing if you're doing a lot of downshifting. I think he said the heavy duty has the same parts except for something with the valve body that allows it to stay in whatever gear you want.
The internals of these units are very close, the S/S & RR units use the Kolene steels & the Trans-Go Performance Shift kit, and the HD uses the Trans-Go Shift modified to the HD specs. All still have the 3-4 upgrade to Borg Warner Hi-Energy's, Corvette servo, etc.
