Are the cables for a 700R4 with a carb or tbi different from the ones with tpi? i swapped in a 700R4 into my camaro with a carb but im using the tv cable from the tpi so should i get a different one is there anny differenc? thanks in advance.

 

Yes, the one for the TPI is longer because the throttle body is farther front on the motor.

 

so should i get a new one for a carb are the ends different like a metal slide like a th350 or are they the same with the little plastic clip on the end?

 

There are different cables for each application carb, tbi, and tpi. What kind of bracket are you using? If you are using an adjustable bracket, chunk the sucker and buy the carb bracket for an 84 or so. The bracket is about $6 and the cable is about $15.
