TH700R4's used on C4 Vettes different?

Is it correct that the TH700R4's used in the C4 Corvettes are different from the ones used in our cars? Im in touch with a company that has one for sale from an 87 but they said that the Corvette transmissions don't have the holes for the crossmember that ours use. Is this correct??

Thanks,

Ken

correct, the tail shafts are different, c4's dont use a crossmember, the use a c-beam similar to your torque arm but it supports the entire drive train.

There are also internal differences, while i dont know specifically what they are i do know they include firmer shifts, being able to maintain wot in 4th and being able to shift to 4th at wot.
