12 bolt questions
Whats the u joint part number from napa for the third gen? Also, I have changed my brakes to the 2nd gen style brakes because my 12 bolt has the 4 bolt flange. I was wonder can I use all my internals from my third gen rear into this rear, not including the wheel cylinders? I have changed the wheel cynlinders to the correct ones for the backing plates. Is there anything else you guys recommend doing to make my installation easier?

When you say "internals" are you refering to brake shoes or ring & pinion gears ?

If you got the hardware with the backing plates use them or replace what is worn out with 2nd gen parts. When I did mine I got a complete pair of backing plates w/ shoes & hardware from a yard. I used them from an 82-88 Caprice w/9.5" brakes. The 3rd gen brake drums can be reused, however make sure the hole is large enough in the center of the drum to let it sit flush on the axle flange. I had to grind mine out some.
