Rear End...

What is the best rear end for overall good acceleration and best top end?

I have heard a 3.73 is the best. I fogot where I heard that but I think I did. Then again if you have a high hp car you can have a 3.42 and fly.

The 3.42's came stock on 88firebirds with 2.8liter MPFI engines, right?
