Ecm Computer Questions
The HONEST 100% answer,
Get the part number from the ECM
Do the same with yours
Ask someone with a Hollander manual to tell ya the truth.
PS don't do it.
Go buy it in, your hands.
IF bad, you have an option.
UR call.
My 1985 Corvette one fit my 1985 Firebird V-6.
WHY MY Prom & early gm computer system.
I GOT LUCKY!

Its just shot in the dark, might still be the EGR.
new is only 75 bucks and they only list one part number for them all, does not even ask if you have an auto or stick. but you know auto stores these days.
right now i am or am going to spend more on the bike. but junk yard only wants 25 for a use ecm.
maybe someone here knows a thing or two about bike carbs, not the cable slide type but the vacuum type where lower pressure makes the slides rise. shoot me a private mesage.

"ECM COMPUTER FOR A 2.8 1982 to 1992 CHEVY CAMARO"
Since the 2.8 was only used from 85-89 obviously somethign isn't right here.
Do a little research and figure out what ECM your car uses, chances are you can find a used one under $50.
Stick or auto doesn't matter since its in the chip. In actuality the ECM is rather generic. Various GM platforms use the same computers.

I believe 1985 is a one year stand alone ecm, too.

Another difference between the 82-84 2.8 and 85-89 2.8: The computer connectors changed in '85. 82-84 computers used a card-edge connector set, similar to how a PC-card plugs inside a computer. 85-up uses the plug/socket connectors we're all familiar with. I'd definately avoid it; unless you want a $10 paperweight.
That might look cool, actually. Nail it to the garage wall. I kept the 84 2.8 computer from my parts car for just that reason. (Haven't nailed it to the wall yet, but eventually, I will... so no, to anyone that wonders, it's not for sale.)
Like KED said, you might ask the seller for the numbers on the sticker of the ECM cover...
