You probably only got an extra 7 or 10 HP out of it; plus, with mileage, the cam wears down, timing chain gets loose, etc, so you lose HP just by having an older motor.

First, look for my major tuneup post.. you've already got a good start with the exhaust & filter. Adding a true dual exhaust won't do much for the motor; even the guys with the fastest v8's on this board run a single intermediate pipe to a single muffler, there's no way our V6's need that much airflow.

You also won't see much from an MSD ignition box. I put my 6AL box on when I ran out of bolt-on mods- and I didn't notice any big difference. You'll see more with just a hotter spark coil, and you could add the MSD box later. You could try the +4's (I haven't) as part of your tuneup.

and get rid of the true dual. It will hurt your performance. The 60* V6 does not put out enough exhasut to warrant duals...

why go below a 160 thermo?... hell that temps killing your MPG and your comps hating you... stay 170-180.

If I were you I'd do what that "Camaro Hunter C" said and lose the dual exhaust, but he's new to the board I remember a Camaro Hunter D though, that must be his brother .....anyways I put a K&N cone filter and lost my air box too.
The super chip with 160 stat is good
Put some jet or whoever else makes them power pulleys on
Get a dynomax cat with cat back exaust
Put an MSD 6A in too, I put one in all by myself, it took me 5 hours, but I did it. I dont even know how to change my oil!!

If you want 220 plus its not gonna happen without spending tons of jack.

If you do have the money put in a 2030 cam, I have one when it gets fixed, my birds gonna fly!
Keep an eye out on ebay for headers it'll be hard to find them, but I found my set there.

Also weight of the car is a big issue, I took out my back seats and the spare if I go to race my friends.
**Important**if you race with people in your car make sure there is not any fat chicks in your car. That'll definitly slow you down.

Hope this helps Peace!

Well, go buy a v8 then. (I wonder why he didn't ask about a supercharger kit?) Why do we waste our time?

lol tomp....

doesnt everybody want a Supercharger or turbo these days....

hey booth...if u wanted to get a v8 why did u put all this money into the 2.8???

when u got ur engine rebuilt what cam went in there ??
also what kinda rocker arms and pistons etc?? went in there..

if they all were stock then the engine stock probbly pushes 135hp @ most....with tranny loss and stock tranny im bettting ur lower than that..
if u put a agressive cam in there then ur probbly pushin more much more...
actually why did u buy a dual flowmaster...its basically useless...basically for our cars even a 3" exhaust is useless unless u have some serious mods to the engine and bigger cam and valves ....

First Pulleys are a waste of money.. Get a CAM instead.

Crane 2030 Cam
Comp Cams 1.52 Roller Rockers

MSD Coil
MSD Wires
MSD 6A Box

4.10 Rear Gears
