RWD and FWD 3.4L

Does anyone know if it really matters where the 3.4L comes from? The main reason im asking is because i may have some problems finding a 3.4 out of a camaro, and there are alot of 3.4's outta impalas and such up here. thanks

when the fwd motors went gen III (93) nearly nothing is useable with our gen 1 motors.

there are HUGE differences.

main issue , besides the induction set up is the motor mounts. those sphrerical torque arms (dogbones) , gotta deal with it.

It was quoted on this site once before (can;t remember who) you can use the 3.4L from a FWD... BUT you have to redrill the transmission holes for the bolts redesign the Motor mounts, get the wiring harness to I believe.

So I would say look hard for the 3.4 in a Camaro, headaches in finding the engine will save you head aches later when you swap it in.

They're not to hard if you remove the motor mounts and pull the motor forward. Finding something to pull the motor with would be the hardest part.
