Which tempature sending unit does the temp gauge use?
I was driving home after work and was checking my gauges and I sorta know why my temp gauge doesnt work. Does the gauge get the reading from the sensor from the spot next to the thermostat housing or from the passenger side head"where ever that is cause I cant find the wires or a sender for it". My gauge reads at the bottom at all times except when the gauge cluster does its check procedure.I would really like to get the gauge working before it gets real hot here in the south,i'm very paranoid about the car blowing both head gaskets and cracking both heads as well. Thats was when I had the starwars gauge cluster in the car at the time. If ya can help thanks alot

The temp gauge (or temp idiot light) uses the sensor (or switch) at the front of the driver's side head. It'll have a single green wire coming from it. If I think of it during lunch, I'll whip out the 'ol pencam again. Did I mention I love this thing?

Ok I have a dangaling green wire. Were ya able to snap a pic? I cant figure out where it goes cause the green wire only goes up to the back of my Air Compressor.
Yes, the sensor uses that Green wire and it uses the block for Ground. It should be right on the front corner of the driver side head. Did someone put a plug in place of the sensor? If so, just remove it and put a new sensor in.

Thanks but finally figured it out yesterday when my cousin brought his 91 RS down and I got to look where it was and saw it. I did another post about splicing the green wire with the yellow wire on the CTS but the tech board said it would probally mess things up so I will get a new sensor to put in place of the plug that I had put in my head during my rebuild instead of putting in a new sensor
