Needing a little help

My water temp gauge doesnt work, I have the green wire just dangaling down because I dont have a temp sensor in the driver head, I just have a plug there. Can I tap in to the yellow wire off the coolant tempature sensor and to make my gauge work?Or will that just mess things up. I'd really love to have that gauge work so any help is very appreciated.

Well I finally have a working temp gauge but I was unable to put it in my drivers head. Today I had to take my A/C compressor and the powersteering and bracket off to get the the plug I finally figured out why the "square" plug was now hex shaped. So I had one of the welders at work tack up a socket to the plug but that still didnt work. So I ended up putting the temp sensor in the passenger head. Then I had to put the a/c and powersteering pump back on and tighten up the belts when I was done. And to cap it all off I cut and legnthened the green wire about 2 foot to go from the a/c compressor harness to the firewall and then to the passenger head. All of this was done in under one hour during my lucnh break. And unbelievably the sensor cost me only 8.05. It was so pathetic trying to explain what kind of sensor I needed to the parts house guy. He kept getting me a sensor for the cts, so I had to take him out to my car to show him what kind of wire needed to go to the sender oh well, I at least have a working gauge now. Are these temps normal? On the highway its down to 160* and while idleing is around 200*

It is & isn't.
Remove your radiator and clean the area between the two units.
THAT COULD HELP.
Good Job!

Do you think I can get an off reading because my temp sensor is in the rear of my passenger head instead of the front of the drivers head? Today I got most of the black plastic interior pieces from the junk yard. Now I wish it was 3 pm so i'd be on my lunch break from work and go to the junk yard again an get the black seat belts and the rest of the plastic parts I need.
