Any computer changes for 4.11's???

Does the MPFI computer need a chip change to run 4.11 gears, or will it run smooth in stock form?

My plan is to put a MPFI 2.8 in place of a non-computerized, carbed 2.8. Does the vss send anything to the computer?

Auto or Stick?

I just could not imagin 4:11 gears with a T5. Just cause of how first gear is with the stock gears.

sounds fun though.

O.K., heres what I'm doing. I have an '86 Jeep Cherokee with a non-computerized carbed 2.8. I'd like to drop in a MPFI 2.8 from a Camaro. My jeep is a 3 spd auto with lock-up converter and 4.11's. It's starting to loose oil pressure due to worn cam bearings. So, I think a MPFI 2.8 would be a fun upgrade/mod I'm trying to get as much info gathered up to try to take on this project and let the mud fly!!!!

Actually you can do either. you can get a different gear, or you can reprogram the chip
