welcome to the boards, and good luck with your project camaro....should be a fun one, and you'll really have a respect for the car once it's finished. Good luck again, and have fun.

Keep at it!
I just scored a perfect (for me!) tan interior from a Camaro for my Firebird.
All the side panels, headliner, matching tan color seat belts flip lid for the back area, carpeting & such is MINE!
AC is going to be operational come Monday.
Keep at it.
Just be real with the power of those weak 6.
It'll do the job but not for racing.

These cars can be performance cars,
just a little harder to work on
They won't run 10 seconds but we can get them to compete with
Stock V8s
I agree with Karl on a lot of things, but that is the only thing I don't agree with. Everything else he has to say, listen to very carefully cuase he is a great help to all of us
The Sixty Degree world wouldn't be the same woth out him, thats for sure

I bought my new carpet from 1aauto.com - they sell the ACC (authorized GM repro company) carpet for the cheapest price anywhere! You might want to think about http://www.por15.com for the rust. I used it on my rear axle and rear sway bar, and it was easy to work with. I bought their super starter kit, semi gloss, for $20- just enough for my job.

From one that grew up in the V-8 HORSEPOWER IS KING WORLD era. Literally Raced it on Sunday and sold MORE on Monday!
From what I see/read of those here who are willing to invest the true dollar for value effort....
You get very good results.
For those that talk and dream, you get disappointed...
For those that wanna race on the streets with these weak 1970's low smog, major gas milage designed V-6 (any 2.8/3.1)...you will be severly smacked down.
Just accept that.
BUT shoot for having major fun with a well designed car, that does have weaknesses.
One can address each of the 3rd gen V-6 weaknesses (chassis, drivetrain, ergonamics).
Some parts (for YOUR level of street acceptance), MAY require more dollars and effort for what you thought you'd get (faster, quicker around turns, or ?).
PS
Example
any sixies issued factory car.
Dump factory exhaust system, install $59 headers, $20 pipes, gain of 40+ HP.
Not with these 60* engines. Best GM has accomplished with these 60* engines is 205HP (GM/Chevy RaceShop front wheel drive vehicle, 3.5 with a turbo. Big deal). GM designed it and their engineers built it with their budget.
Have a great time cruising and scooting around town in style and class.
One can't beat a 3rd Gen V-6 ride for that claim to Street Fame. You DO own a Classic!

karl, i love ya man, but...
I never said that the 60* can be king, just that you don't give it the credit it deserves. I t can be better than it is. When GM made these, they had to keep "PROFIT" in mind and made cheaper parts to put on there that are weak and sometimes restrictive. I don't expect to go out and win races just that I want to build up a six for fun. I don't expect to see much more than 250 horses when I am done.
Don't get me wrong bro... V8 are my Fav, remember that I want a Big Block Vette
and I still want to have a V8 powered thirdgen too, but since I own a 60* and never plan on selling it cuase I love it too much, I want to show people how GM wanted these babies to run. I want to show people how these cars SHOULD have been made. No more stamped Steel parts. No more restrictive Air Flow or exhuast... I will be using a 3.4 platform too
