Ok how do I take the rotor off.. I took off the distributor cap and there's the rotor.. little black stuff on it and I wanted to replace it... I turn and pulled and twisted.. nothing.. it doesn't come off.. no screws or anything.. so what the hell holds that plastic end on?

Just friction, that's all that holds it. There's a metal clip on the bottom of the rotor that helps to squeeze the distrib shaft; maybe it rusted up a bit. That clip has nothing to do with electricity, by the way... it's just there to help hold the rotor on. Put gloves on (so you don't scrape your hand against the cowl lip, ouch!) and give the rotor some hard yanks upward. You won't break anything (unless your hand hits the cowl too hard!
) because the rotor's on the shaft, and the shaft is held "in" by a roll pin through the bottom distributor gear (inside the engine). So pull as hard as you need. If you want, you might be able to heat the rotor up a bit with a hair drier to expand the plastic and make it easier to slide off... don't know if it would work, just a guess...
