Rear end and Tranny fluid

I know this probaly isnt for this board but I'm sure Karl can help me. I'm about to make my first trip over and hour in my car. I'm getting the oil changed because it's over due. Should I flush and refill my tranny and rear end? Is it hard to do myself? What do I use to refill them? Any help appreciated.
Thanx

I dont know you got a 95 but GM wants you to use ATF auto trans fluid in your 5 speed, well mine. Which is crazy as hell, why the bearing go out after 150,000 miles.

striaght 30w oil/lube is much better. Just let the car warm up a bit before you take off when its real cold outside so the oil gets moving in the tranny.

ATF in a gear box is dumb, I dont care what reason they have or had.

Oil or gear lube in an F-body 5 spd. is not good! It wont shift for crap when the weather starts getting cold! My old 'bird had gear lube in the trans when I got it, it wouldn't shift smooth, even when warm. I put the ATF in it when I noticed it was gear lube and the shifting improved greatly! ATF is used in 4x4 transfer cases too! It allows for easier shifting, and quieter operation.

Ive been using straight 30w oil for about 6-7 months and through 1 winter. no problems.
gear lube may be to thick.

but the salvage yard I got the tranny from recommended straight 30w oil if I wanted it to last.
