T5 or T56 on a 3.8?

A LOOONNNNGGGGG way down the road I've decided I am going to swap a Grand National or TTA engine into my bird, and even though it won't be for at least a year or two, I was thinking today it might be fun to go with a manual tranny instead of the traditional 200r4 thats usually used with these engines. Would a T5 or T56 bolt up to a 3.8? What are the pros and cons of using a manual over an auto on these engines?

how come you are doin a 3.8?

i have heard that the 3.8 is a 90* block and would be just as hard to install as a v8, costwise and laborwise

t5 100-150 bucks used easy to find.

t56 1500-2000+ used not very easy to find cheap if at all.

but of course a t56 is better but lots of cash and better suited for a v8.

YES they will bolt up

you can either use a bellhousing from a 1996-2002 3.8 T5 V6 camaro/firebird

OR get the Buick Engine to Chevy Trans adapter plate, which is about $90

is it smart to do?

not at all

manual trannies and turbos dont go together well
