CHC's Headers and Exhaust Help needed

okay, I've been saving up some cash to buy a set of headers from Camaro_Hunter_C, but I need some info before I go any further;

so these are smog legal? (just confirming)

here's my plan; I've got a 1992 RS w/3.1L V6 auto, all stock; anyways I want to have CHC's Header's installed and at the same time I'd like to do a flowmaster "fake" dual exhaust and install a catco hi-flow cat., now apparently I need a custom Y-Pipe...and I assume I need the Flowmaster 80 series right? anything else I need to know or get? anybody have any clue what an average exhaust shop would charge for installation?

Here's what ya do.
NO headers not smog legal yet.
A set is being forwarded to CARB in El Monte for certification.
Now, that takes time.
How long?
I live in California, ask me!

In the mean time.

Order find any special final muffler & Cat Convertor you like. I like Don's he's cheap! 800-888-8892 (cc=$60, mufflers= under $100 (many choices way less, too). Ships from AZ, close!

Find a 4th gen car & get that intermediate pipe (should still look new, fit our car "Perfect" and is larger diameter).
IF you're lucky, you can also get the "Y" pipe from that car & use those pipes for the "to be made" "Y" pipe. Shoot me an email & I'll show ya a pic of my "Y" pipe I got with my 95 3.4 long block

Ask around for a muffler shop.

IF you want to you can remove your pipes & such (to save $$ at muffler place), but then how you drive there?

Cost total about $300-400, including all stuff.
BUT good/great systems last a life time.

well, looks like I'm just gonna have to wait, which isn't a big deal since it gives me time to do some better research on the project and build up more cash.

I was getting the opinion that Camaro_Hunter_C was not going to make very many sets and that if you wanted a set, you had to order asap....but If there's gonna be more after they are "certified" then I might as well wait then.

You may be right on your opinion.

this is my problem, the headers are of no use to me if the car cannot pass emissions as it is my daily driver (like any good v6 should be) so as much as I'd like to do this, it does me no good as-is though. so I'll save some cash away for the smog legal ones; and hopefully Camaro_Hunter_c's business will pick up so that this will be possible....be sure to let me know when they are ready.
