Update on the "surging when started cold" problem...

Well, yesterday, I did the following...

Cleaned the TB
Cleaned the IAC & IAC passageway
Checked the TPS, was 0.59 volts @ idle and within spec, but I set it lower to 0.56 volts. (Spec is 0.55 +/- 0.05 volts.)
Checked cap/rotor for carbon tracking, found none. (I DID find a chunk missing from my rotor, dammit! I just bought a new one, WTF???)

So the car is still surging when cold. Today, I'm doing an oil change & lube job, I'll see if there are any exhaust leaks, and maybe I'll check the CTS value. I love this Fluke 73 III meter! It has a bargraph at the bottom of the digital display that reacts "instantly", before the meter can lock on to a reading. I was able to "see" my TPS voltage increase smoothly, without the jumpiness of the numerical readout!

Tom,
What is the CTS? What did you do to adjust it?

They must... if you type in "fluke 73 III" at yahoo.com, you'll see the meter I have. I saw it in Sears, too. Funny though how I still like using the Sunpro, probably because I bought it myself.

mvftw, the CTS = Coolant Temp Sensor. As you look at your throttle body, look below & behind it, on the intake manifold. There will be a two-wire sensor sticking up out of the intake manifold; that's the coolant temp sensor. You can't adjust it, but mine might be shot after over 230,000 miles.
