Pics of engine work

Hey guys...

I haven't had much time these two weeks to do any more work with the car, but I did have some time (considering I cannot fall asleep tonight, and it is like 5:00am now) to post all the pics I took with my digi camera up on a site. Anything prior to my digi, I need to scan, so that will take a lot longer (don't have a scanner).

Head Gasket Replacement and overall cleaning of grime...

Have fun...

nice

Now that was some work. I have the gasket rebuild kit for my 92 3.1 v6, but I've thought about all the work and have just been putting it off. And now I don't have a garage to park it anymore, oh well. Guess I'll get around to it sometime (probably when it's cold as hell and 3 feet of snow on the ground!)

Lots of work, but a lot of fun

92Camaro1,

Yea it was a lot of work. We pretty much met for three weeks every Tuesday and Thursday at about 11:00am - 8:00pm. I think this is a total of really 7 - 8 days of work, including tear down, cleaning and re-build. Of course now I need to troubleshoot some problems, and we haven't been able to get together fot the past two weeks due to a friend visiting from France.

Of course this is with a lot of messing about, taking long lunch breaks, fixing my friends exhust pipe on his civic, and also fixing my fridge water line which my friend punctured with the darts he was playing with in my basement...

Speaking of exhaust... on a civic, if your poor and wish to get a buzzing, ***** sound, just cut a 4 inch long gash on top of the pipe which connects to the muffler. It does the same damn thing as those tin-can tipped mufflers. We fixed that, because he HATED that sound (he also couldn't stand us making fun of him all the time either)...

As far as the garage thing, the drawback to keeping the Camaro in the garage is that my other car, 99 Cav z24 sits outside and the exterior of the car now looks like it has gone through a warzone. Damn trees with their acorns, branches, pollen and sap and don't even get me started on all the bird crap...

I think I sleep a total of 4 hours a night now. But during the day, i'm not tired at all. Strange.

Thanks for the cheers on cleaning. I can actually see paint where the car seemed to be painted black (grime). Of course when I started celaning the compartment, I got the urge to unbolt everything that was there and do a nice cleaning to it all, perhaps re-painting some parts.

I think my next project car will have to be one that I intend to restore fully, because It is very difficult to just do a little when with just a little more effort, you can do the whole thing. But money is a huge factor this summer, I don't have any.
