Finally Got It Back!!!!!

well, after 10 days for a tranny rebuild () I got it back. It still has a "chunk" sound when I floor it from a dead stop, Sounds like its coming from under the passenger floor board. But it doesn't seem to over heat. While it was in, they did replace the tranny mount, 3 freeze plugs, and the rear main seal free of labor. I am still hoping the "chunk" sounds has something to do with the ratty exhust system cause I know all the joints are broke in it. Any other ideas, please let me know as I will be working on it all day saturday (16th). Thanks for your wisdom in advanced.

congrats on the return. More likely then not your exaust pipes are just moving aroudn on you as you slam the gas down, they shift back and hit the undercarriage or a crossmemeber. Hoping that's what it is, but if not, and you have any thought it coudl come from the tranny (passenger floor is definatley not a tranny locale though) then you atleast take it back to them and yell to get it fixed, lol. My tranny started leaking on me, ummmmm 3 months after it was finished, exactly 90 days and the warrenty was voided. Nehoots, the guys were nice enough to take it in and fix it free of charge anyway, simply because they wanted to keep their good rep, and i'd advise anyone to go to my shop, they did a helluva job. Sorry you had togo through so much bull**** though, that sux.

Well, I spend 6 hours installing my exhuast system and it wasn't it. That did NOT fix my "chunk" sound. I looked over and attempted to tighten all the bolts to my tranny. Their all tight. I am thinking its a motor mount or in the suspension. I also installed my early kick on fan switch, it disabled my guage, so its comming out. The over heating problem is fixed, I guess I had an air lock in the system. I noticed the rear shocks are bad, so I will be looking into fixing them. So much work, So little time!!!!

I saw two black rubber things With new chrome/nickle bolts. they were tight, and the 4 bolts holding the cross member in was tight as a m/f also.
