Quick TTA question.

Does the turbo get fed exhaust from one bank or both banks?

How exactly does it get fed... I know the intake side of it, but I'm still working on the exhaust side of it...

I'm toying with a new idea... flip the passengers side manifold over to the drivers side, and have an exhaust shop make this: (actual TTA passengers side header)

All the exhaust gases from the entire motor pass through the turbine. The driver's side is routed under the engine and then into the pipe you have. Both of them dump into the turbo's wastegate. If you only hooked up one side, the turbo wouldn't spool up because a lot of your exhaust would go through the exhaust crossover in the intake to the other manifold. I'm no TTA expert, just tryin' to help.

BTW, nice MPH and time for your 2.8 in your sig.

As far as I knew, yeah, you can't hook a turbo up like an EGR pipe, gotta have all the exhaust gas run thru the turbo. Kinda makes me wonder why GM didn't do a TTTA (twin turbo trans am)!

Ok, thanks guys...

Oh, and pontiacguy1, that was my first time at the track, a better launch will help those times, and so will the new injectors I hope to have in a month or so... Those times were Density Altitude corrected... the baro was -very- low the day I raced, it was also hot and humid... by the end of next summer I hope to be at least at 16.5 @ 87...

1/3 correct,

Both go to the exhaust housing, and he doesn't have the pipe.

Actually they did make a twin turbo TA, but just one(was never a production car of course), I have seen a picture of it, but don't remember the site.....if you search for some of my old posts on the history/restoration board you might be able to find the site. If I remember correctly it was a TT 350 though.........seems to me it did 180+ mph. It's been a few months since I saw the site though so a lot of the information I just gave may be wrong.

EDIT:
It bugged me I couldn't remember the site or the post so I searched for it, here it is if you would like to check it out.
