Trouble codes?
Trouble codes?
I had my engine light come on in my car today. I grounded it at the terminal and it gave me two trouble codes. Although how do you actually distinguish what code the flashes convert to? Anyway here is what I got:
-3 flashes followed by 2 flashes
-3 flashes followed by 4 flashes
Does this mean code 32 and 34?
What should my first step be as to fixing these problems?
Thanks for the help.

Yep code 32 and 34
34 is a MAF problem (low airflow indicated), so you might need a new one, don't buy one yet. I think if you check the orange film inside your MAF, if it is wrinkled, you could be in need of a new MAF.
32 is EGR system.

From Haynes Manual: The EGR solenoid should not be energized and vacuum should not pass to the EGR valve. The diagnostic swtich should close at about 2" of vacuum. With the vacuum applied, the switch should close. Replace the EGR valve.

Code 32 is often brought on by just a leaky vaccum line. So check them first because there a cheap easy fix. (wind shield washer hose)
