Breather

Ok I want to put on my breather filter on my 3.1, what should I use to cover the hole in the side if the intake tube where the old setup tube from the valve cover goes into?

So...you're pulling the tube from the intake rubber flex tube into the passenger valve cover off and putting a breather in the hole, right? Let me see a photo..I've always wondered how that would look. And what's the diameter of the breather rubber end? As far as plugging the hole on the intake tube, no big deal. I'd just use some high temp duct tape. As long as the hole is covered, it won't make a difference. I yanked my flex tube, so the tube from the valve cover isn't connected. Computer doesn't know the difference...all I think the tube does is recirculate unburnt gases or something back into the engine.

There's really no point in putting a breather on... the PCV system is very efficient. Breathers were for older cars without a PCV system.

But as for plugging the hole in the intake tube, think about using a short bolt with a large enough diameter. The threads should bite right into the rubber. I'd still put the PCV system back...

Positive Crankcase Ventilation, used to suck the fumes out of the crankcase and put 'em back into the intake to get reburnt.
