dual cats

I know a true dual exhaust would sound like crap, but: If I did it, would I need to run dual cats? Or should I go with no cats? WOuld dual cats rob a lot of much horsepower? Or would the torque be worth it?

Please don't tell me it would sound like crap. I already know.

If you want to be emission compliant... yes you need two cats.

If you get two hi performance cats, power loss would be minimal.

You would probably have more torque with the cats.

Cats create backpressure. Back pressure and restriction on the exhaust end pushes your powerband lower, as far as horsepower is concerned. That's good for us...don't want to make your peak power too high. We're definitely low and mid-range power cars. As far as torque goes, I couldn't explain WHY something like this gives more torque...probably a blend of laws of physics and the way the engine is designed to operate...but if something diminishes torque, don't do it! We have wimpy horsepower, but our torque number is damn respectable! That's all we've got going for us!
