Finally got it Painted !!
I finally got done painting the Firebird . Thats why I havent been on here in a coupl of weeks . I have no less that 60 hours in sanding the clear coat off the car . The guy that painted the car did the body work. I have about 700 dollars in the job . $225 to the guy that painted it and $475 in paint , primer and materials. I used Napa "Crossfire" base coat (3 coats ) and Napa martin senour Tech 2 Clear coat ( 3 coats). I painted it back to the 89 Firebird Bright Red color . I will post pics as soon as I get them on the computer. It really came out nice.
Oh by the way, where my plastic was broken on the front under the fog lights I used woven fiberglass matting and resin to repair it and body filler to smooth it out and blend it in .

Congrats! Where did you put the matting? In the back of the bumper or in the front? Do you know what kind of paint it was (enamel, urethane, etc)?

Sorry it took so long to reply but I ve been swamped with work.
I put the fiberglass matting on the outside. I used a grinder to rough up the surface placed the matting soaked with resin over the break and used a squeegie to push the air from under the matting and smooth it out. For the finished surface I used plastic body filler on top . I used the matting a bout 6 in. on either side of th break for strength.
The paint is just a basecoat but I know the clear is acrylic urethane. 3 coats of each.
I will get pics as soon as it stops raining
