Oil leaking through Sensor

Does anyone know how the oil pressure sensor actually works and why the oil would get to the electrical connector? Today I got home and the connector came off, pegging my gauge, and I noticed oil dripping down the manifold toward the y-pipe. Does the oil pressure actually push the connector off? (the locking tab broke off when I replaced the sensor)

Thats what mine did when mine went bad well i was reading i had 0 psi of pressure at idle and like 10 when i was driving when i took the connector off to replace it the connector was soaked in oil. If the connector is broken either replace it or run a xip tie thoguh the 2 wires and go from the connector to the bottom of the sensor then put a zip tie around the out side of the zip tie around the sensor top and bottom that should hold it in or if you want to make it perminent just super glue the damn thing on its plastic it will work
